Walking the gallery

No account is required. No sign-in exists.

No analytics, advertising or tracking script runs on this site.

No cookie is set.

The browser stores a few values locally: whether the newsletter invitation has been shown, whether you chose to look slowly, and any colour palettes you saved. They stay in the browser and are never sent anywhere.

The newsletter

An email address is collected only when it is typed into a signup form.

Addresses are stored by Cloudflare, which hosts the site, or by Brevo, which sends the newsletter. Brevo's privacy terms apply to what it holds.

The address is used to send the newsletter and nothing else.

It is never sold, rented or shared with a third party.

Every newsletter carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes the address.

The contact form

The contact form collects a name, an email address and what is typed into it.

It is stored by Cloudflare, which hosts the site, and read by Nicola Harvey.

It is used to answer the message and nothing else.

It is never sold, rented or shared with a third party.

The connection's address is never stored. A one-way hash of it is kept for an hour to limit how many messages one connection can send.

Responses to works

A response collects what is typed and, if given, a first name.

Cloudflare's safety model reads it first to stop hateful, harassing or violent words.

It shows on the work only after Nicola Harvey reads and approves it.

The connection's address is never stored. A one-way hash of it is kept for an hour.

An artist's residency

A living artist's changes to their own record are stored by Cloudflare with their date, and shown in the gallery to anyone who holds the room's private link.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes request logs for security and delivery.

Images

Every image is served from this domain. No museum, no content network and no third party sees a request made while walking the gallery.

Requests

To see, correct or delete what is held, use the contact form or write to the address in the footer of any newsletter. A request is answered within 30 days.

Changes

Changes to this page carry a new date at the top.
